Fall Color & Sandstone, East Zion

Zion National Park is a unique natural location which, during October and November, combines the stunning beauty of both fall colored foliage and the warm sandstone of the high desert. This area suits my style quite well, as I am drawn much more toward the fine art aspects of intimate details that to cliche tourist overlooks. This image, Fall Color & Sandstone, East Zion, represents what I envision when thinking of this magical region. As I wandered the washes on the east side of the park outside of the "main canyon", I came upon this amazing mix of fall colors nestled into the side of the canyon. The colorful leaves appear to be flowing from the sandstone into the dry river bottom.
