Intertidal Zone, Shrouded Mountains, Glacier Bay, Alaska

When photographing a grand landscape, it is very easy to lose the details. In this image, captured on a small island at low tide, I allowed myself to get lost in the details. With the snowcapped peaks shrouded in cloud across the bay, I filled the foreground with rocks encrusted with muscles, barnacles and kelp. The intertidal zone exposed at low tide. What a contrast to the mountainous world above!
