Mossy Bridge, Big Sur, California

On my first visit to Big Sur, California I chose to drive the backroads in the hills just inland from the ocean. I happened upon this old mossy bridge over a creek leading into a grove of redwoods. I had to wonder who had built this primitive bridge, when, and why. The backwoods near the coast are mysterious. At the very least, I know that crossing over the creek into a beautiful redwood forest would be reason enough for me to build that bridge.
