Painter's Palette, Tahoe Aspens

Autumn is the most anticipated season for photographers, especially those of us who live in the mountains. As we eased into October, 2017, hints of color began to pop. I explored and scouted every day with great anticipation, and was pleased to find this one aspen grove bursting with diverse color.

I returned early the next morning, while the sun was still behind the mountains. The cold night had caused even greater color change, and made for a true mountain photography experience. This was the first image I would expose to film this Fall season, and it felt great.

As I scouted for a composition, I felt the chaos in the forest. Unlike Colorado and Utah, our aspens often grow in a "less orderly" fashion. I have come to embrace the beauty in the chaos, and this image is an example of that beauty found in a Lake Tahoe Autumn. Painter's Palette, Tahoe Aspens embodies my catch phrase, "The Fine Art of Nature".

Enjoy the View!
